In order to succeed it is important to have a lot of physical activities and counseling, i.e. to follow the planning and not miss mandatory activities. Not mandatory activities are highly recommended tough.
Meals are composed by a dietician; none should be missed (mandatory).
Conferences (optional) : Diet and health conferences are highly recommended. Other conferences will give you an insight into French and Provence culture & way of life.
Soft physical activity (mandatory)
Twice a week, you will practice Gym or Aqua-gym (gym in the indoor heated pool) with a small group (6 persons max).
There are easy walks along the coast or in the close-by mountain with terrific scenery.
If enough people like it, we can also have dance lessons (tango, Provence folk, ball floor, in line US folk…).
People can swim in the indoor pool whenever a mandatory activity is not planned and in the outdoor pool whenever they wish.
Beach (optional): We will go to a city with a beach: Nice (the prettiest city of the Riviera), Cannes (famous for its Croisette and film festival), Antibes (a charming medieval city on the sea front), Vallauris (pottery capital), Biot (and its glassware workshops), Golfe Juan (and its gorgeous sandy beaches)... The persons who want neither to swim nor sunbathe can enjoy museums, sightsee, shop or stroll in the city.
Open discussion session (optional): on weekdays, before going to the beach, there will be an open discussion session. Attendees will select a topic and openly discuss it freely based on their personal experience. Examples of frequently chosen topics: body image, causes of overeating, relapse prevention, embarrassment, loneliness, anxiety, impact of weight on social life, on job opportunities…
Market or shopping (optional)
There are a lot of Provencal, Italian… markets as well as ‘vide-greniers’ which are village wide garage sales. You will enjoy their atmosphere as well as doing good deals (souvenirs, clothes, art pieces,…).
Cooking lessons (optional)
Volunteers (2 persons per course) will learn how to cook tasty French family cuisine which do not increase weight
French classes (optional)
Practical class (shopping, going to the post office, cooking, reading the newspaper…)
Grammar (conjugation...), Conversation …
Siesta (mandatory) : Each day it is recommended to have a short nap after lunch but you can use this time for resting, reading, listening to music, watching TV…
Event on Sunday (optional)

Shutdown (mandatory): Good sleep is very important. The premises gates close at 22:00 (10:00pm); residents must be back home before that time.
